Sacred Candles
Whenever possible I light a candle in remembrance of my friends and loved ones who have passed.
It reminds me of a story of my dad, when he was in the hospital coming to the end of his life I stopped to light a candle. I stopped at the Blue Army Shrine to light a candle, and that evening it was so windy I thought for sure my candle would not stay lit. But I did it anyway. The next day I stopped to relight the candle because of the wind, but I found it still burning for my dad. I truly believe these are sacred candles and God watches over our intentions.
Take the time
and LIGHT a candle for someone you Love

Meditative Walking
I call it meditative walking. With my eyes I am looking at the beautiful landscape. Taking my mind off of daily life issues.
Sometimes when I am here at Saint Joseph's Shrine there is no one else around. Today there was a retreat going on, and it was nice to see a lot of young people growing in faith and spirituality.
On one of my visits to the shrine I discovered this new building that was added to the grounds. While I was sitting and meditating on this room, I started to notice the pictures on the shrine wall. This wall depicts five stages of Saint Joseph's life with Jesus and Mary.
